Fall Pullover Sweater Knit Along
Intimidated by knitting a sweater? Select from one of our four pullover patterns. These are knit from the top down, sleeve stitches worked without seaming and have color added with stranded knitting or simple stripes. During these sessions you will learn the following skills, swatching and gauge; how to take measurements and select an appropriate sweater size; decipher sweater pattern instructions; increasing and decreasing,
Join us for this knitalong by purchasing your yarn and pattern. Knit along begins Saturday, September 15th and continues in October thru November.
Knitters are welcome to gather and knit anytime, with Thursday and Saturday afternoons designated as “Pullover Knit Along Time.” Joining this Group is free when you purchase yarn for this project here at Uncommon’s Threads. Lisa has chosen four patterns for this project; samples are being knitted now and are often at the shop for you to review their in progress. The four selected patterns are:
Branches and Buds by Carrie Bostick Hoge
Anaashah by Jennifer Steingass
Ravello by Isabell Kraemer
Flat White by Casapinka
Each is a top down pullover with color work options using worsted, sport or fingering weight yarn. Three involve stranded colorwork and one has simple stripes in the yoke and sleeves. Our knit along is not a formal class, but a fun knitting gathering which also serves to help encourage each other to see the project through to completion in a timely fashion.
We as knitters often have a difficult time staying on task with all the distractions that fall offers. The knit along will continue through October and November to provide the time requred to bring your sweater to completion just in time for holiday festivities.
