_________________________________________________________________Baby Surprise Jacket - Tuesday, Feb. 19th and Feb. 26th 6pm-8pm
Cost: $50.00, 2 sessions
Would you like to have a baby gift on hand? Well Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Baby Surprise Jacket is just that project. As you decrease, you increase, you knit a little more, and pick up a few stitches here and there, you bind off, you fold and – its a surprise! – this little rectangle of knitting become a jacket.
If you choose to knit with fingering yarn, your jacket will be small, chose DK weight yarn for a larger jacket and so on. Knit in one solid color or use several colors to make stripes, possibly using Urth; see what happens with patterned sock yarn from Rita Mae. There are so many ways to knit this little jacket, you will love knitting it again and again each time a new baby arrives.
If you are confused by Elizabeth Zimmerman’s pattern writing style. Not to fear, we will demystify this pattern for you during our class which starts in February and will meet a total of 2 times, taking you from the first row to the shoulder seams. The cost of the class is $50 and includes the pattern.
Join us and make the Baby Surprise Jacket by Elizabeth Zimmerman a part of your knitting repertoire!
On The Beach by Isabel Kraemer Sweater KAL - Thursdays - March 7th, 14th, March 28th, April 11th 6pm-8pm
Cost: $60.00, 4 sessions
If you are like me, you hate sewing seams. I find that the raglan sleeve style of most top-down sweaters are unflattering in that they do not define your shoulders, giving the impression of slumped shoulders and poor posture. The Contiguous Shoulder method gives the look of a set in sleeve while knitting top down seamless sweaters.
In this knit along, we will be working from a basic V-neck sweater pattern, On The Beach by Isabell Kraemer. I will be teaching you how to modify the neckline, changes you can make for a better fit, and how to add decorative touches such as textured stitches or decorative borders around the neckline.
Homework: work a swatch with your chosen yarn and needles.
Materials: as outlined in the pattern. Bring your favorite fitting sweater to help obtain your perfect measurements for a perfect fit.
